If you're thinking about staying at Villa Mahabhirom then stop thinking and book it!! We spent four nights there as part of our honeymoon traveling around Thailand and it was pure luxury. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt hugely welcomed by all the lovely staff who couldn't do enough to help us and always greeted us with warm smiles. We were accommodated with an early check in at 11:30am which was fantastic as we had expected we would need to drop our bags and go and find somewhere to have lunch while we waited for the room to be ready. The lunch and dinner is excellent quality and very reasonably priced considering it is a 5* hotel!! About 300 baht for a main course. Cocktails are also not too expensive, however wine is pretty pricey (similar to London UK prices) but that will be due to the import taxes I expect. We stayed in the 1 bedroom villa with private pool and it was even more spectacular than the pictures. Gorgeous architecture and objets d'art dotted around which make you feel like you are royalty living in thailand 100 years ago. Such a beautiful, relaxing and interesting hotel. The beds are also super comfy and HUGE!! The spa is also excellent- I had a 90 minute Thai massage which really helped with my shoulder pain and left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Again the spa prices are much higher than what you would pay in Chiang Mai old Town at one of the little massage shops but the quality and ambience in the hotel spa is far superior so you definitely get what you pay for - definitely worth it in my opinion!!! Do bear in mind the hotel is about a 15/20 min taxi from the old town so if you want to be right in the hustle and bustle then do consider this, but also dont forget that they have Grab in chiang mai (the Uber of Asia) and taxis are SO cheap - it will only cost you £2-£3 to get to the centre so this was absolutely fine for us and personally we prefer to be further from the centre in a nicer more relaxed hotel.

This gorgeous luxury boutique hotel is really quite special. From the moment you walk in you feel transported to a different world. The hotel grounds are lush and breathtakingly beautiful. It's all in the details - from the bamboo walkways to the eclectic antique art dotted around the property, and the traditional, teak-built Thai villas, each raised on stilts, offering a private balcony. The rooms are spacious, with lots of storage space. While they have been updated to modern standards, they retained the traditional look and feel of the abodes. The property also boasts a stunning swimming pool, which is lit up by dozens of lanterns at night. All of these unique touches make for a serene and relaxing stay. Would highly recommend staying here.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. From the moment we walked in the staff provided us with exceptional service. The design is unlike any other hotel in which we’ve stayed. It was peaceful and inspirational. The villas are gorgeous both inside and out. The pool is stunning surrounded by the most beautiful and lush landscaping. The restaurant was wonderful. I had a two hour Thai massage at the spa which was the icing on the cake. This was undoubtedly the best hotel in which we stayed on our two week family vacation. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for high design, friendly, warm, and attentive staff, delicious food, great location, immaculate and comfortable rooms, and a unique boutique environment.

It’s cosy and peaceful place and we loved thai decoration details all around. The villas are spacious and have lots of private sitting area outside. We liked the breakfast, which included asian dishes and was served next to the swimming pool or in the restaurant. The hotel has restaurant serving Vietnamese food. The staff is friendly. Hotel is located near airport, 10min taxi to the old town, walking 5km is not pleasant as it’s along busy dual carriageway with no pavement. tTo make it perfect, It would be nice if the hotel could offer taxi service at the price more comparable to meter taxi or Uber (we were quoted 3 and 4 times higher price). Overall great place to stay, relax and soak Thai atmosphere.

Alex

The grounds are stunningly beautiful, full of exotic mature plants in verdant glory. There's a bamboo walkway, ferns and palms, and a very flowery cannonball tree around our villas. Every space is a photo op. The villas are restored and modernised, marrying beauty and comfort. Love the little balcony decks, we spent evenings having meals and playing games, it had the feeling of home. Also love the happy hour cocktails, and breakfasts although not a lavish buffet spread, were sufficiently varied that we didn't get bored after 6 nights. Very private, guests hardly see each other.
